Update, for everything.

by on Jul.23, 2007, under General, Life

Well, ive been messing around with some stuff and figured id put an update out.

Ive just been working and sleeping, or so it seems. Really, in the background, ive been studying for a linux cert I plan on taking soon.  I just signed up to take the 1 week long course for the Red hat Certified Engineer cert. I chose for the “higher” cert because I felt that I would not have gotten any more out of the RHCT (technician) cert. So theres that.  Eventually, I also want to take my Linux+ and Network+ exams, just to get them out of the way.

A few months back, I posted that I got a new laptop.  Ive been extremely happy with it so far.  Here are the specs of it:

IBM/Lenovo T60 widescreen.

2.0gHz Intel Duo Core / 3gb ram (I upgraded from factory 1g) / 160G 5400rpm HDD (Upgraded from 100g 7200rpm)  / XP Pro

I  chose XP because I have a disgust for Vista, even though everything is going that way now. Upgraded to 3g for better support, and if I did ever go to vista, or even install it for testing, It wouldn’t be slow. For the hdd, it seemed that the 100g filled up too fast. I was only at 1g free 3 weeks ago.  After getting the right hard drive (IBM locks to certain drives), I am now at 160g, and loving it.

I have never used a better laptop in my life.

I also got up the courage to move over to ATT/Cingular, from Tmobile.  The last few months has been horrendous with the  8 hour late voicemail notifications, the 2 hour late text messages, and the lack of service, even when standing directly under one of their towers. Anyways, I bought a cingular “GoPhone” to test coverage, and was extremly happy with what I saw, and ended up moving to them.  I got myself a AT&T 8525 phone.  Despite the 1 bar of service in my room, I still can make calls, test messages, and even get on the internet with it.  Everywhere else, it seems even better.

Now that I have mobile support for this site, and some other things working, I want to try to update this site more often, even if its just random gibberish.

For now, so long and take care
